Book Fair POS and NFC cashless platform
Architected the point-of-sale and cashless platform used across the fair, with automated daily reconciliation. It is offline-first by design, so checkout never waits on the server at peak while it scales out.
Technical Team Lead and Senior .NET Developer
I build and run the payment, access-control and e-commerce systems behind Abu Dhabi’s live events for the Department of Culture and Tourism. Ten years of .NET, a team of fifteen, and systems designed to keep working when the network does not.
About
I lead a 15-person team at Lenador Systems that runs live event platforms for Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism. I architect the payment, access-control and e-commerce systems behind the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and I stay hands-on in .NET, Azure and CI/CD.
Before that I led the technical go-live of Fonterra across nine APAC countries, ran an application management team at Kantar, and taught C# and Azure to around 700 students.
15 engineers, one delivery cadence under Scrum with mandatory code review.
Selected systems
Six pieces of production work at Lenador Systems, all running for the Department of Culture and Tourism.

An offline-first gate system for 16-hour operating days. Local logging with auto-sync and a shared NFC cache cut re-entry time by 80%.
DCT’s web and mobile platform for catalog and translation management, order processing, and local and international shipping through Aramex. Live and handed over.
A multitenant platform for exhibitors, POS sales and reconciliation, plus the Book Fair Flutter app with AI-powered book recommendations.
A text-to-SQL MCP server, an LLM-powered BI chatbot and an AI storytelling kiosk, led from architecture review to delivery.
Moved production to Azure Container Apps and Container Registry, chosen over AKS because production runs only 10 days per event. Jenkins pipelines with an on-premises Docker registry raised UAT releases from 2 to 4 per month.
Design approach
At peak hours the system must not stall while the server scales up. Every terminal keeps selling locally and syncs when the link is back. Cut the link below and watch the terminals carry on.
